Thank you notes & pictures

Connie,

I have never felt so much passion for a dog as I do for Tucker. He fussed a little on the ride home, but settled down. From my sisters to my house not a peep :) We were in bed by 11:00 ( Tucker in his crate ) next to my bed and was perfect until 8:30 when I got up. We have been out watering plants and he is laying next to me on the cool tile in the kitchen. We will go for a short walk before it gets to warm. I LOVE HIM!!! Thanks again I will refer others to you as I hear about their searches for the perfect dog.

Sly

Photos of Tucker and my porch we spend a lot of time outside playing in the flowers and lounging on the deck. We look a lot a like :) He stayed home by himself today and was perfect. I left him in the kitchen. No messes or chewing. He has impressed everyone who meets him. We walked the golf course this afternoon and he made many friends. He sits before he comes in the house and is catching the fresbee and returning it 60% of the time.Thank you agin I love this little guy!!!

Tucker is GREAT!!! He went to doggie day care and they loved him. He wins everyone over.

Hi Connie:

I thought I would send along a photo of our boys, Angus and Hamish. We've had Angus for 2 years now and Hamish for a month. The boys get along famously and are having a lot of fun. Hamish was just the right pal for Angus and just the right addition to our family.

Thank you!

Hi Connie,

Just wanted to say hi, and let you know how wonderful Buddy is. He is doing so well with everything. His potty training is coming along well, and he is getting along with Molly our other dog, they play in the yard together. They even eat together. As you can see in the picture that I enclosed, Buddy took over Molly's bed. He retrieves for me, knows stay, sit, come and no! I'm very proud of him. We just love him. He has added so much to our lives. Thanks, so very much.

Dear Connie,

Sophie is in heaven and so am I. She is so loveable, adorable, kind, and smart. She's the perfect puppy. She is thriving- sleeping in her crate from 10-7 o'clock every night, eating three meals, loves her walks. She goes out for three walks daily and each walk is 45 minutes to an hour. I take her for two of the walks and I found a wonderful dog walker who takes Sophie out for her afternoon walk.

Susan

Hi Connie!!

Indy is here safe and sound!! We absolutely love her!! She is beautiful, comical and quizzical--there is no question that she has a BIG brain behind those gorgeous brown eyes! She has adapted well — the dogs are respectful of her and she of them — no problems at all. She will see my vet at 10 am tomorrow for the blessing. She loves my kids as well as my husband. She will sleep in a crate next to me tonight. She just ate a supper of raw turkey and enjoyed it. Don't worry! It is all good for Indy and I will treat her like the Princess that she is.

Talk to you soon!
Jackie

Hi Connie,

I just wanted to give you an update on Zephyr. She is an absolute joy to have! The kids adore her — the entire family adores her. He personality is so kind, caring, compassionate, and loving. She truly is an amazing puppy. We LOVE her dearly. I'll tell you what I tell everyone else — Zephyr has quadruple the amount of belly laugh we get each day!

Thanks
Angie :)

Ollie update 3:

Hi Connie,

Just forwarding a couple photos of Ollie while we were on the Oregon coast in July! Ollie is a "love" and we just adore her!!! She has been with us 3 months now and we are so very attached to her and love her to death! Ollie loves my daughter's lab, Kona and they play so well together. Also, our much older dog, Phoebe who we thought would be a challenge.....she has come back to life and they also play well together. Anyway, we have so enjoyed Ollie and wanted you to know and see some recent photos.

Hope you have had a wonderful summer and we have given your name to several people as a recommendation to purchase a labradoodle. Sooo many people stop us and ask where we got her and how darling she is.
Take care Connie~
Marla

Ollie update2:

Hi Connie!

Another update! Ollie is literally the sweetest dog I have ever met! We only ever have to tell him no about something once...
He's our great hiking partner!
Ive attached another picture!

Thanks! Libby

Ollie update:

Hi Connie,

Just checking in again. Olly is doing so well! My husband is here now..we got married last week! and Olly has adjusted just fine. He is the sweetest most loving kind dog I have ever met. He just goes with the flow and isnt afraid of anything anymore! At the beginning he was afraid of cars and even people sometimes and bikes and noises sometimes. he has gotten over all of that and has really come out of his shell. We take him hiking every weekend and he loves it. he also loves running around the yard and the neighbors dog comes over to play too (the neighbors dog is very choosy with his play partners but just loves Olly!)! Olly loves all dogs and is always gentle and just wags his tail all the time. He is happy and we are too. he and my husband are now best fiends!
Thanks Connie for Olly...he is the best dog I have ever known! My husband and I are impressed with him everyday!

Libby

Hi Connie,

Olly is doing great! He still isnt going in the crate and I really havent pushed the issue. I just leave him in my bedroom with a baby gate up when Im gone He hasn't done anything to the room while Im away- doesn't go to the bathroom or chew anything (I haven't left him for more than 3 hours at a time yet though) He goes to doggy daycare 1/2 days and then at my lunch break I pick him up, bring him home and he waits 3 hours until I get home again. This is working out well so far. He is such a sweetie and is really starting to adjust now. He's much less scared my cars/trucks now---still scared, but much less than before. We are starting dog training this weekend at a place caled Fido's farm, in Olympia which Ive heard great things about from various people. They do all sorts of training there- from basic through to agility and therapy dog training, so I hope Olly and I will be there for a while- going through the different stages. I taught him sit, down and roll over so far...! Hes so mellow! and he goes to the bathroom every morning on our walks (not in the yard too much though- I guess he likes to do it when hes walking?)

Thanks Connie!
Libby

Hi Connie,

Just a quick update on Ollie and our first week together! She is doing great! Honestly, she adjusted so quickly we were amazed! Thought stairs and her surroundings would bother her at first, but she races through the house and is really full of personality! Way more than I expected. Ollie also sleeps in her crate through the night....10 - 6 or 7 a.m. She doesn't even wimper....it is wonderful!!

We are working on potty and is pretty good every time I take her out and really watch, but we have had a couple accidents which I expected. Our other dog is getting somewhat used to her and Ollie loves to taunt her. Anyway, all in all, she is super fun and adorable and we just are having a ball with her. I will send a picture soon.

Thanks again for everything!
Marla

Update:

Good morning Connie,

Here are some pics of Maya/Miley. Thought you may enjoy them. We love to watch her race around our yard.

She had a trip to the groomer and they loved her. She did very well. She also loves playing ball. She can't get enough of it!

Have a great day,

Bev

Update:

Hello Connie,

We thought we would send some pics of Miley/Maya. She is adjusting well to our home. She loves to play ball and has been racing around our yard like a bullet. She is doing well with staying in her crate when I am at work and I come home a lunch to let her out. She seems to have picked me and my youngest daughter Katherine as her favorite people, but she loves all of us. Everyone is amazed how calm she is. She is shy about some noises, I think the traffic sounds like the airplane at times and she sits and listens to it. She loves scratches and hugs and she is really doing well with the sit command. She loves swinging in the hammock with the girls. Katherine even took her to the playground and she went down the slide. Needless to say she is really fitting in.

I am working on her walking around our neighborhood, lots of smells and things to see. She has learned to walk on Main Street, which has lots of traffic. Tonight when I stopped to chat on Main St with friends, she sat for 20 min just watching the cars. She did very well at the vet and has let me bathe her and trim her coat with scissors. Has she ever been to the groomer?

She is getting on our schedule, doing potty first thing in the morning. We had only 2 accidents in the house both our fault. We think she misses her dog buddies and you too. Katherine has given her 3 of her stuffed dogs and she drags them into her crate with her.

We feel so blessed to have this wonderful dog. She is truly delightful and so worth waiting for. We love her so much.

We will continue to send you updates. I hope you are well,

Bev

Hi Connie,

Sorry I did not get back to you sooner. Very busy week. I have been working every day, lunch and night with Maya and she is coming along so well. She walks well on the leash, but is very calm and quiet when we stop to chat with townspeople. We took a very long walk in town tonight and I thought she would be worn out, but she wanted to run and play fetch for a long time tonight afterward. She just loves to speed around the yard at top speed. Today she went potty on command in the morning and at my lunch break. Amazing.

She is so smart. She has figured out how to open her wire crate (we bought a second crate) by herself from the inside. She also has figured out if she lays under the kitchen table she has a fun place to hide. Tonight, she found the little rubber toothbrush I bought for her and was flying around the house with it in her mouth, all the time wagging her tail and playing a game.

She is a fantastic dog and we are so happy we have her. Katherine is now bugging me to adopt Taylor!

Bev

Hi Connie,

Moka is doing terrific. She has adapted to life with my daughter and I very well. She is very affectionate and has a wonderful disposition, just as you'd said. She's always so calm and good natured. We couldn't have asked for more!

Thanks so much

Peter

P.S I've attached a picture of Moka and my daughter

Connie and John,

Kendall and I are going to use the one that she is face to face with Kendall and she is showering him with kisses as a Christmas card. We are crazy about her and hope to have her fly out with us in the cabin in July when we go to Portland. I will let you know, because we would really like you to see her

Best, Gale

Connie, Just went to your site and saw all the wonderful puppies........I do this on a weekly basis, just to "check-in" on whats going on...... I am going to have to pay a lot of money to get my "data" back from my "crashed" hard disk, but its worth it......lots of grandbaby pictures, etc.....but especially pictures of our trip to your beautiful home and our first pictures of McKenzie Bradford....... had to get these back!!!!

McKenzie had is first hair cut and he is just beautiful......(or should I say handsome).....in any event he is just wonderful......we walk everyday in downtown La Jolla; visit all the shops; go to the Park; steal old tennis balls at the courts; and meet lots of wonderful people.......McKenzie (or D'Kitty) as he is known around town is just a big hit...he visits the Muttropolis store on his daily walks and they all just love him, they all yell "Kitty's Here" and give him treats when he prances in the front door....all the customers just love him as well. I have given your name and web-site information to so many people that we meet (at least 2 people per day) .....everybody wants to get a dog just like him!!!!!!!....its truley unbelievable.....

He loves to ride in his sheep skin covered car seat and let the wind blow in his curly locks when we go downtown for his walks.......(I'll send you some pictures when I get all of my electronics back in operating order). He is the most wonderful little pet we have ever had......so smart, cute, and snuggley ......unbelievable......so glad our vet "said go visit him before you buy".....meeting you and John, and selecting McKenzie was a wonderful experience that we will never forget..........(thank God I can get the pictures back of our trip).

Looks like you have your hands full with all those beautiful puppies, but I bet their going like hotcakes? If one tenth of the people I meet on walks follow through with a puppy purchase, you should run out pretty quickly..........

Thanks again for all that you do.......we are soooo happy with McKenzie "D'Kitty".......

Keep in touch,
Chuck and Kris........and McKenzie

Hi Connie,

Well, you were so right about our boy Clifford! What a wonderful dog he is! When I came to pick him up, he was extremely friendly, showed no signs of fear, and he has continued with that demeanor, even as I introduced him to his new home! I am just astounded with how well he is adjusting! He is even great with the cats, already! He and Jackson have been playing non-stop since Clifford got here- and I mean NON STOP- until about 10:30 last night when we finally put the boys in their crates and they were OUT until 6:30 this morning. I have been monitoring their play very closely to make sure Clifford's stitches are not being affected by all the rough-housing and they continue to look great.

My husband fell in love with Clifford instantly- he could see how special he is. Truly, we just could not be happier! I have already worked with Clifford a bit on "sit, down, and come" and he is picking it up fast! He is a bit afraid of our stairs (we have lots of them), but I'm sure he will get the hang of it quickly, like everything else.

As I write this, both dogs are in the large kennel I have set up in the basement (they are both a wet, muddy, mess from their morning play in the yard ), and Jackson is doing so much better in it then he ever did alone. I just KNEW two Jackson won't teach Clifford his bad barking habits- but so far I haven't heard Clifford bark at all- hopefully his calmness with rub off on Jackson!

Thank you again! We are in doggy heaven here! Hope you are having a good visit with your parents. I will definitely keep in touch. I will send pictures and I want to take a short "movie" of the boys playing in the backyard which I will forward to you soon.

Thanks again!
Donna

Hi Connie

Thanks for the vx mail. Yes, Charlie Brown is quite the puppy. I have sent many to your website. He enjoys his Saturdays at the kids basketball games, volleyball tournaments and especially on a ride along to work with me.

Attached are some more current pictures…of course I think he’s the perfect puppy!

Good Luck Rebecca, and don’t hesitate to call! Keep me posted.

Hi Connie,

Well, we celebrated Mickey's 3rd birthday today in style ... a birthday sing-a-long and a good bone!

Here are a few pictures of our big guy. He has come into his own very nicely. We've started adventuring out with him and a few of the picture are of Mickey and the kids hiking in Santa Barbara. He loved it!

Mickey is a much beloved dog in this house. Thank you for sending him our way.

Best,
Clare

Hi Connie,

Gambit is doing great! He's finally won over the neighbor's dog-- she is 13 years old and was at first a little intolerant of his energy but now likes to play like a puppy herself. He seems to be learning a new command every few days and will start a puppy class next week. Other than the bad haircut we gave him, everything is wonderful! Photos attached-- he likes to sleep on his back but won't go near the water yet!

Jennifer

Hi Connie,

November 24th was Mickey’s 2nd Birthday and I wanted to send you some updated pictures and to thank you again for changing our lives with her! I know we are partial but is she just the cutest dog on the planet?

Mickey is doing great! While she is the love of our lives…fetch is the love of hers. She could play fetch 24hrs a day. She does a little dance over the toy that she wants us to throw if we don’t do it quickly enough. As if we didn’t notice her standing directly over the toy…staring at the toy, then us…the toy, then us. She just cracks us up. She will go as far as to drop the toy in our hand if we ask. It is crazy how smart she is. We teach her a new trick in about 10 minutes. She has the basics down; sit, lay down, shake (aka high 5), stay, but the newest trick is “cover your eyes” and it is just too cute.

We cannot fatten her up. She is spoiled with treats (no human food just puppy treats) but she runs so much she is this skinny little girl but in great health. She is a complete cuddle bug (in the morning mostly since she’s not much of a morning pup) and she loves everyone and everything! She is happy to be alive and reminds us to enjoy every moment and each other.

We hope everyone at Rivermist is doing well.

All our best,
Alexis

Hi Connie,

I just wanted to update you on Charlie. He is doing great! He is so happy and easy going. He is getting lots of playtime and a couple of naps already today. He seems to have a potty spot chosen already, which is terrific. We have had no accidents yet. He is eating and drinking. He slept in his crate last night and I took him out a couple times to potty and he did just fine. We are all amazed at his sweet and loving temperment. What a joy! Thank you and I'll be in touch!

Update:

Hi Connie,
Merry Christmas!

Charlie is doing wonderfully! He is a sweetie and we are all in love with him. He is in a puppy training class and he is picking up commands. He is still working on potty training, but he gets it for the most part.

We have seen his brother Tux a couple of times now. Gretchen's parents live right next door to us. The boys love each other and play really well together. We all think they do know they are brothers. What do you think?

We are so happy to have Charlie here for Christmas this year! Thank you.

Cheers, Laura

Baxter wanted to say Merry Christmas to you guys! I've attached a few pics of him that I took while we were decorating the house. He has claimed the tree skirt as his new dog bed. He sleeps there and chews on his toys there too.

He's a little goofball! He still sleeps on my pillow, which is getting more and more interesting as he grows. He's done really well with his potty training. He's never had an accident in the house, and he's made it the past 4 days without having an accident in his crate during the day. The other dogs adore him, and he adores them. It's like he's always been here.

Hope all is well. Take care,

Michael

Update:

Merry Christmas Connie and family!

I'm not sure if you heard or not, but Tulsa, Oklahoma got it's first ever blizzard yesterday. We got between 5-10 inches of snow, which is insane for Oklahoma, and the blizzard-like conditions shut down Tulsa and Oklahoma City both. The wind has created drifts of snow 3 feet deep.

Our Schnauzers, Lexie, Hudson and Gunnar, refused to go into the snow at all yesterday. They held their potties ALL DAY. Baxter, on the other hand, was loving it from the first moment. He was running circles in the backyard, diving into the snow banks and digging in the snow. He didn't want to come in!

I've attached a few pics from this morning. He's such a little clown, and we couldn't imagine our lives without him. Merry Christmas to you. I hope it's the best one yet.

Ryan and Michael

Update: The months have been flying by! We took Baxter to the vet a couple weeks ago (he caught a stomach bug that has been going around here). He weighs 19 pounds and the vet thinks he's closing in on being full grown.

I've attached a couple pics and a video (hope you can open it) of his most recent bath time. I snapped them quickly with my phone, so they're not very good quality wise. He loves being in the water. He stands up for me while I lather and rinse him then, after we're all done with bath time and I give him the okay, he goes and plops down under the running water, plugging the drain. He loves to lay there and let the water run on him as he tries to catch it in his mouth. He'll soak in the tub for hours if you let him.

He also loves to splash in mud puddles when we're out walking, which is how he ended up in the tub in the pictures above. He did an amazing job of coating himself in mud with just one jump into a puddle.

He continues to amaze and impress us. He loves everyone and has never met an animal that wasn't his friend. He loves dogs, cats and even bunny rabbits. When he came home he was very shy and timid, even with us. Over time, he's come out of that, but he can still get scared in some new situations. But he's become very affectionate in the last month or so. We're big on puppy kisses and snuggling in our house, and he's really come into his own recently. He loves to lay next to me in my favorite chair and snuggle me, give me kisses or take a quick nap.

He's just such a good, good dog. We have our Schnauzers as you know. Baxter was close to their sizes when he came home but he is now substantially larger than they are. He's very aware of this and he's always gentle as they rough house, tear around the house and wrestle. It's like he's fully aware of how big and strong he is now and he's in control of it, which is pretty amazing.

We couldn't be happier with our little man and, when the time comes that we add another doodle to our family, you'll be getting an e-mail from us! :)

We're taking him to be groomed this weekend and getting him a buzz cut. We're getting into the rainy season here, so we think a shorter coat will be easier to deal with (and easier on our carpets). I'll send you pics when he's all done!

Hope all is well with you.

Take care!
Ryan

Dear Connie,

Kona is doing well. She is eating everything I am offering her. She does not eat first thing in the morning but is hungry around 9:00 AM. We have found places in Gig Harbor the sell the EVO and Nature’s Variety.

She has been amazing. She sleeps in her crate at night and walks well on the leash. She walked most of two miles with me this morning. She and the cat are becoming friendly with each other – touching noses a couple of times.

She had her appointment with the vet on Monday. She has an ear infection which we are treating right now. She will be going back for a check up on the 16 th. Our vet was impressed with your thoroughness on records and getting her ready. She liked her a great deal.

The only thing she has been a little apprehensive about is our neighbor’s shepherd barking in their back yard. I’m sure she will get used to her.

Of all six of our previous dogs Kona has come the best prepared for her new home. Thank you for a good job.

Ildi

Sure does fluff up.
Have to put her outside in the rain.

Mackie. She's trying to fit into the Yorkie's bed ....and he has his own....

Connie,

Well, Wile E., our little boy is settling in and made it through his first Christmas without even touching the tree. He is a wonderful puppy with THE BEST disposition. Exactly the reasons for not getting a puppy all these years, except mildly potty training, are a moot point because he is so easy! My Mother is even looking at your babies now! Everyone who has seen him is blown away with him and when he sits on command at 14 weeks they almost faint!

Santa brought him a bed for the living room and he is so happy to be wherever, except for his crate, but that has gotten alot better and he's getting used to our schedule as ours is modifying to his too.

Thank you for this baby as he is a wonderful addition to our family and will be my children's best friend for many years to come!

I'll forward some pics next week!

Merry Christmas and Blessings to you and your family for a prosperous,
healthy and happy New Year!

Hi,

My son Drew and I just went online and saw Elu's new puppies... its
taking a lot of self control not to adopt another!!! Rocky is the daughter of Elu and Quincy born March 2008. She is the perfect dog with my two children- the absolute best demeanor. Rocky is definitely a people dog. She needs to be around people all the time and loves anyone that walks in the door and will give her an ounce of attention. She has definitely become a true member of our family and we love her to pieces.

Her favorite passion is boating with us in Long Island although, she has not taken to swimming! She can hardly control her excitement when she sees us packing up for an adventure!

Thank you so much for letting us adopt her. Attached are two pictures.

Best regards,

Liza

Dear Connie,

Charlie is 5 months now (Elu and Quincy, 04/11/09) and he reached 23 lbs. He is a permanent member of our family now and I think he is as happy with us as we are with him. He is very smart and intuitive and loves to spend the time with us, whatever we are doing, cooking, garden, soccer game, or cuddle and watch a movie. We have spent some time this Summer in Ocean City, MD, and I gave your name/Website to several people who were impressed with Charlie. He bonded very well with my 9 years old daughter and she said that he is the best Birthday present ever! He has settled very well with us from the very beginning, so I think you did a wonderful job preparing him for his new life!

Thank you so much .... Jean

PS: Some pictures from vacation when he was 3 and 4 months old.

Hi Connie,

Just thought you might like to see a few pictures of Ryder at six months old. He is now 31 pounds. He has a great personality, is a beautiful color, and is as cute as can be. He is a special little guy and is always entertaining us. We're so glad we found him.

Jean and Alan

Hi Connie,

We just wanted to write and say how happy we are with Aussie. He is such a pleasure! You were so right about his personality. He loves to be around us all the time, and is really calm and contented. Potty training is going well, and he is getting lots of love around the clock. He's made great friends with my husband's workboots, and just loves to snuggle up in and around them. The kids say he is the best Christmas present they have ever gotten!

Thanks for everything. You made this whole process a real pleasure-from providing the web cam, to arranging the flights, and we really appreciate it.

Connie,

It has been a little over 2 months since Rexie came into our lives. She is the perfect addition to our family. Her adjustment went smoothly, like she always belonged here. Rexie is smart, playful and extremely lovable. She is also very easy to train. She is everything and more that you described to us. The Colins are all in love with her! Thank you very much!

< Mia and Mia with Bella

Dear Connie:

It has been 2-1/2 years since we adopted our little Bella and life with her gets better with each passing day. As you know, she is the first dog that anyone in our family has ever had. What you may also remember is that I was previously NOT a dog lover. We primarily adopted her because our children so desperately wanted a puppy. Now flash forward 2 1/2 years, and guess what, I am now over the moon with affection for Bella and can honestly say that Bella, Rivermist and the Australian Labradoodle breed have made a dog lover out of me! Of course Keith, Mia and Clay are equally smitten with her and we all play different, but important roles for this pooch.

So, not only is Bella adorable, sweet, playful, smart and affectionate; she truly is hypoallergenic! Bella doesn't affect our son's severe dog allergy nor his asthma a bit! Both of our children have a number of friends with dog allergies who come to our home and none of them seem to have trouble with Bella.

Since we have had such a great experience, we had to spread the enthusiasm so last year we persuaded our friends to adopt Bella's younger brother Scout. Although we presumed he could be equally as great, there was a tiny bit of concern that he may not be. Those concerns vanished as soon as we met him. Scott, Eileen, Doug and Nick have embraced Scout and he has turned out to be a gem. Eileen, like me, was the more apprehensive one with regards to getting a dog and here we are one year later and it's evident she ADORES the little guy and he adores her right back! He loves to be wrapped in a baby blanket before bed and she gladly obliges. Scott, who, lets just say, doesn't have a lot of patience for poor dog behavior, is also totally taken with Scout and his wonderful temperament.

Pay it forward....most recently Eileen and I referred yet another friend to you and we are both most grateful for how nicely you worked with Colleen and her family. You have made their year by accommodating their needs and selecting Lucy Valentine to join their family. We are all very excited to meet Miss Lucy when she arrives next week, and based on our past experiences, we expect that she too will be an absolutely terrific little pup.

This has turned out to be much longer than I intended but I suppose it demonstrates that our family can't say enough positive things about Rivermist Labradoodles. Thank you again for making this experience so wonderful for my family along with the other families that we have pointed your way.

Truly, Tina

Hi Connie!

We hope you are doing well. We wanted to send you a few photos of Scout. He has adjusted nicely and is enjoying the summer with his whole family home.

Take care,
Eileen

Hi Connie

I have been meaning to write you with an update. Huck (we actually changed it to Charley Brown) is doing so wonderfully. I can’t express enough how happy I am to have him and how wonderful he has become with the kids and Archie our lab. He comes with me on a “field trip” each day and has become a great swimmer too diving into the pool after the toys.

He is so calm, kind and gentle. He is out of the crate completely and sleeps on the floor of our room. During the day he hangs out with me or the big dog.

We are LOVING him to pieces and so appreciate your help in getting him.

All our best , Susan

Hello,

I just have to tell you about a “chance” meeting last Friday at Southwest WA Medical Center parking lot… I work @ SWMC, was driving out and saw the 2 CUTEST doodles…. With 2 ladies… turned out one was “your mother” (she is really nice) .. she had a really small black doodle and the other lady had a caramel color 3 month old… I have to say… that one stole my heart! I own a 3 year old doodle and he is the light of my life (all 112 pounds) …. He has been my “rock” in crisis as well as constant companion… I just wanted to tell you I think you are providing the BEST service to those seeking to welcome a dog into their lives, and when I decide to take on another--- I will definitely visit you.

Thanks!
Louise

Hi Connie,
Just wanted to drop you a note about Henry (from Rosie & Quincy's second litter). He is such a love. He always knows where we all are in the house and is happiest when we are all home and together. He comes to my husband's side of the bed for cuddles in the morning (my husband is more a morning person) and to me for cuddles at night (I'm a night person), and during the day he is often at my feet under my desk. He is wonderful with our daughter and has converted her from a little girl who was intimidated by dogs to a true dog lover. When our friends take care of him when we are on vacation they just rave about what a sweetie he is, but he also holds his own playing with their dogs. He is smart (rings a bell to go out, jumps, waves, heels, etc.) and somehow manages to be my "baby," my husband's "boy" dog and our daughter's playmate all in one. Thank you for such a wonderful addition to our family!

Here are some pics (we keep him pretty shorn since he gets hot in Santa Fe in the summer and even though it snows in the winter he gets hot inside):

Hi Connie,

I thought since it was George's 3rd Birthday I would send you this awfully cute picture that My son Ethan took after he took off his costume from some school program that the kids had to dress up. He put his crown on George and Georgie just looked so cute it made me smile. George is sitting on his most favorite resting place. He doesn't move much from that spot. He has a good view of the kitchen, the hallway, and, of course, the den. We very excited that we get to have Bailey visit us for 2 weeks next month. I know the boys will have a ball!! Thanks for everything!!

Ginger

Connie,

Finn is doing great. Very quiet but checking everything out. His crate was dry. We'll send pictures soon. Thanks again for everything. He is just adorable.

Jen

Hi Connie -

Finn's first day went so well. He is getting used to all of us and his new home. He didn't eat much today, but I guess he's still getting adjusted. We took him out for a few walks and he did great on the leash. We still cannot get over how adorable and sweet he is - he has yet to bark and he's so comfortable getting into his crate.

Thanks again for all you have done for us - we really feel like our family is complete now that Finn is here.

Warm regards,
Jen

Connie - We wanted to wish you and your family, and all your wonderful dogs, a very happy and healthy holiday. Finn has been such a joy to have, he really completes our family. He has been a breeze to train and we cannot get over how smart he is. He loves the Christmas tree, especially the water and some of the ornaments :-) We had our first big snow today and he had a blast - we couldn't get him to come inside. The kids are so thrilled to have Finn and we cannot thank you enough for making his adoption so smooth.

All the best for 2010,
Jen, Pete, Regan, Jack, Thomas & Finn

The first picture is Willow the day we picked him up. He was 8 weeks. Now he is almost 7 months 18.2 pounds. Thanks Connie we really love Willow. He entertains us every day.

Thanks
Jim & Barbara

Mickey enjoying his second snowstorm in Charlotte, NC.

We love Misty! (Huck) She's the best (& she loves rain, snow, mud, & puddles!!) 8 months old.

Hi Connie - We are having so much fun - the three red puppies are doing really well together and Kylie has been great ! You are right about her energy- she and McKinley have been running all over together and are both pretty tired tonight. I tried to give Kylie a space of her own last night but she wasn't happy at all. She managed to escape and went to bed cheerfully with the others. Only one accident over the past two days ...she's been following McKinley's lead outside.

Thank you again for helping us expand our family in such a happy way!

Jane

Hi Connie,

McKinley had her first trip to the groomer's yesterday so I thought I'd pass along some photos. She's just a perfect dog--- I can't thank you enough!

I hope all is well. It looks from your website that you're extremely busy these days.

Best,
Laura

Updated pictures of McKinley and friends.

Meet Moose—

Updated photos of Koda and Penny

Koda did get his first hair cut. The one of him looking out the window was to cute. I let his friends out to run and play in the snow. He was watching them. He made the cutest sound that he wanted to play too. So after pictures he went out.

Hi Connie,

First, Kelly and enjoyed meeting you and John in your beautiful home. What a place, what a setting! Secondly, we made it back to Palo Alto without a hitch, although we cut the flight a little close. Bixby (name we settled on) whined a lot in the car, but was a perfect dog on the plane. We were upgraded to First Class and she sat between us on the armrest. What a first flight for her! She has very quickly adapted, sleeping quietly in her pen, which is now set up in our kitchen, through the night, both Tuesday and last night. She is eating well and shows no signs of separation anxiety. She is very happy, and has quickly worked her way into our hearts. She is a special dog! Everyone is thrilled.

So all is well and we wish you a happy new year. I will send some pics soon.

Thanks for your kindness and professionalism. It has been a pleasure.

Toby

Connie: Attached are photos of Rocko and Patch. Their first real snowfall. They love it!!!! Watching them hop around and play in the snow is a joy to see.

The Murthas

PS - They both have grooming appointments this Friday. We are only going to trim around their eyes and underbelly. We love their hair long!!!

Rocko at the beach...

Update, February 2010:

Hi Connie

Just to let you know that Izzy has settled in really well and is very happy. We took her on holiday with us to Cornwall and she absolutely loved the beach and the rock pools - she had a great time!

I've attached some photos for you, taken last week :-)

She is just the sweetest dog and a real cuddle bug.

Marley update:

Marley turns 2. He is doing great! I think my friend and neighbor might have talked to you about getting a puppy? I hope so!
Amy

Hi Connie,

What a priceless moment we had Christmas morning! Marley was sitting in front of me so still the kids thought he was a stuffed animal. Then when he moved they were practically hyperventilating, "We got a real dog, a real dog!" My daughter has proclaimed him the "best Christmas ever." I hope you have some power now and were able to also have a wonderful Christmas. Thank you for helping to make ours so special.

Marley is settling in nicely. He is so sweet and calm. The snow has kind of thrown him for a loop with regard to going to the bathroom outside. He has been holding it unbelievably long (even though we have been taking him outside often he just does not go) and has had a couple of accidents. No big deal. He went outside this morning though, so I think he is figuring it out. He is eating and drinking fine. I am sure this is all so overwhelming to him!

I have not had a chance to look through the folder you gave me as I STILL have the flu, and it has been a doosey. The only question I have so far is, "What are the commands that he knows?" I remember you said "potty". What else? Does he know "sit" or "come"? Do you use "off" or "leave it" or "no"? I just want to be consistent. We are signed up for a puppy class in January.

Hope you have a chance to relax a little now that the Christmas rush is over.

P.S. We went to Betsy's house for Christmas dinner and Marley and Berkeley got to meet each other and play. They were both so cute and well behaved!

Talk to you soon, Amy

Rawley update:

Connie,

We bought Rawley from you almost 2 years ago and I'm not one to gush complements and carry on with superlatives - I leave that task to my wife.

Prior to getting Rawley I raised Great Danes and had Labs for 20 years. The Labs were great dogs - the Danes well .........they were big.

Rawley has exceeded our expectations so much that I'm at a loss for adjectives to describe him. He's a beautiful dog, but it's his intelligence, intuitiveness and ability to relate to humans that distinguishes him.

I've completed most of his obedience training with the help of a web site I highly recommend - Leerburg.com; but in reality Rawley has trained me. He quickly learned basic obedience and knows maybe 20-30 various cute tricks as well as responds to hand signals. But more importantly Rawley senses our moods and responds by affectionately crawling into our laps, gives us kisses or quietly sits at our feet at just the right times.

He's my traveling companion going with me almost everywhere ....... be it to have our car serviced, the neighborhood restaurant (outside dining) or an afternoon on the river. Being retired Rawley has quite simply become my best friend.

In closing thanks for breeding a remarkable canine and continued success with your Labradoodles.

Warmest regards,
Larry

Hi Connie.

We bought Rawley (Rollie) from you in July and he flew back to Atlanta with me. This little guy just about stops traffic everywhere we go... He's the cutest little guy and is just a big cuddly love. He is 7.5 months old an weighs 32 pounds... I'll have to send you a couple more pics later... especially the ones where he is sporting Marc Jacobs shades! We love this little guy! Hope you can see the picture okay.

Thanks
Penney

Lizzy will soon be making the long trip to the UK

Just a quick update on Annie--I am just so pleased with her progress that I have to brag about her to someone.

Her personality is finally out in full force and is so endearing. She is fun, funny, intelligent, and very loving. And so much My dog. I don't think I have ever had the kind of bond that I now have with Annie--and I have loved a lot of dogs!

She learns things so quickly, but I am waiting until the weather improves before I put her in a class.

She is still a little timid, to some extent, I expect she will always be, a bit--but she is great buddies with our other dog, Emily, and follows her into all kinds of new situations. She now plays and sits with my husband.

If Annie is at all representative of her breed, then there is no doubt that I will get another Australian labradoodle when we have room in our house for another dog. I think I have said this before, but thank you so much for sending her to me.

Linda

Annie was almost a year and a half when Linda got her. She didn't have the time with us in our home like Willie. Annie was my little outside helper with feeding my sheep.

Connie

Connie:

Merry Christmas. Attached is a picture of Shadow and Santa. I have never enjoyed a dog as much as I have with Shadow. She is my fishing dog, my watch dog, grandkids baby sitter, partner watching football games and my partner everywhere I go. She is registered service dog which means I can take anywhere. Missed seeing you at the Columbia Christian School Auction this fall. We took her to Portland with us.

I have a pontoon boat for fly fishing and it has a platform on the back of the seat and Shadow just sit there while I fish. Will sent you a picture this summer of her fishing. Thanks so much for all the enjoyment.

Thanks
Andy

Gracie:

Hi,

We purchased a puppy (we named Sparkles) from you about 1-1/2 years ago. We are interested in another pup. I have 3 children (1, 5 and 7 year old). I am not in a hurry for a dog. I have been looking on your website for the past couple of months and just wanted your input. My kids would like a smaller dog -- smaller than Sparkles she weighs about 27 pounds. Do you have any recommendations? Are you breeding any miniatures any time soon?

Thanks and take care,
Jennifer

More Cooper update:

Hi Connie!
I wanted to update you on the most wonderful Doodle in the world (at least in my opinion!). Cooper passed is Canine Good Citizen Class last month!. He did it at only 22 months old — the testers were very impressed by how young he was!. I am very proud of him!. He definitely has Therapy Dog potential, and we are starting down that path.. He loves learning and his training classes and is quite the hit with kids.. He also really enjoys just meeting people — never met a stranger!. I seriously could not ask for a better dog, and feel so lucky he waddled out and chose me on the day we came to visit the pups!.

In addition to his training, we have been hiking a lot, and almost stopped by your B&B out in Stevenson as we have climbed Hamilton Mountain a couple of times in the last month!. Unfortunately, we ran out of time.. I wonder what he would do when he saw you?. He still tilts his head when he hears your voice on the website calling Jordy.. Yes, I still stop in and check out the pups....can't help myself!
Here are some pictures of Cooper hiking and the proud pooch with his CGC certificate..

Thank you again for the most amazing dog in the whole world!.
Christina

Cooper update:

Hi Connie,
Although I'm sure you are an Oregon fan, I thought you might nevertheless enjoy this photo of Cooper (Parisha/Lil Brett, 8/07) and his dad at Bronco Stadium on the blue turf. He's possibly the only dog ever to walk the blue turf. Coop is quite a celebrity here in Boise. Go Broncos!

Hope all is going well on the farm and in your new B&B endeavor.

Deborah

Hi Connie,

I have attached an updated picture of Cooper - he had just got home from the groomer. He is quite the handsome man. He is doing SO great! He is perfect. He was completely housebroke after 3 days, and continues to learn so quickly. He knows come, sit, stay, and laydown. We are now working on rollover and shake! He loves to learn! He has been the most amazing new member of our family, and we can't imagine life without him.

Thank you again for a wonderful boy!

Christina and Doug

Hi Connie,

Yesterday marked our one-year-anniversary as Winnie's parents & we love her more than ever (if that's possible:) She's in excellent health and am sending a recent photo.

Thanks & hope all is well at Rivermist.
Toast

Winnie is the joy of our lives. She is so amazingly loving, smart, fun & funny and always just wanting to please. I call her my little time-waster because I can't resist her & probably interrupt whatever I'm doing to get down on the floor & play with her about 400 times every day! We have had 5 other dogs in 40 years, all of whom we have loved dearly, but Winnie is uniquely wonderful in every way and we simply adore her.

I hope with all my heart that you are able to breed more just like her as she is truly a very, very special dog, and I thank you with all my heart that you somehow knew she would be exactly the perfect companion for us. Here are 3 photos that I hope make you happy.

Sincerely,
Toast

Thank you so much for this nice note. I am really happy to hear about everything with this litter. Sandy and I love Bentley so much that we love everything about him including his family. I have attached two photos for you. As you know, he turns 1 years old next month! His personality is amazing. He is playful and fun at home and very popular at the dog park. He goes to doggy day care where he interacts with puppies all day long and something tells me that he runs the show there! He is a little alpha male, and he is always looking out for me. He is also a snuggler and def likes to be cozy with us which is sweet. He has us wrapped around his paw!

Thanks again for the updates!

Best,
Danielle, Sandy & Bentley

We have our little guy, safe and sound. He is already fitting in great. It seems the flight was not too bad on him, and he has been getting to know our house, the kids, and our yellow lab Chase.

Here is a picture of "Hershey", or at least that is what we have started to call him... with our daughter.

Thanks again,

The Morsbergers

Connie,

Bear has been a WONDERFUL addition to our family! He adjusted to our home instantly and has been so easy to train. We even took him with us on vacation to our cabin in Wisconsin where he played all day with the kids on the sand bar and in the water. He brings joy and comfort to everyone in our family everyday! He is so well behaved and adorable he gets attention everywhere we go and we have referred so many people to Rivermist Labradoodles because they are so impressed with him.

Thank you,
Molly

Connie,

Wanted to write and give you an update on Sajaan, of Elu and Quincy’s March 12th litter. He’s a phenomenal little dog – but not so little anymore! Going on 32lbs at the age of 7 ½ months. J He’s just a joy to be around – funny, curious and so, so loving. And smart – almost ridiculously so. Headstrong, but utterly willing to please.

People ask how long we’ve had him and both me and boyfriend have to stop and think – there’s no way he’s been with us for less than 6 months. Impossible. I can’t imagine life without him, as so many of your past clients have said. I’ve given your name and contact info to at least 10 people, and hope you hear from them.

I saw Boomer, Sajaan’s brother, on the Web site and wanted to pass along some photos of Sajaan because - aside from Boomer being lighter in color – they look so similar! I hope Boomer’s parents are just as lucky.

All the best,
Simmi & Kevin

Hi Connie

I just wanted to let you know how crazy we all are about Lucy! We often ask each other how we managed to survive for so long without her in our lives.

She comes from Sienna's first litter, born May 11, 2007. She is only 15 pounds which makes life easy ;-)) Her favorite thing is going to the dog park and RUNNING and being chased by other dogs. She is so goofy, smart and sweet!!

I've attached a photo of her with another doodle pal.

Thanks for giving us such a great addition to our family.

Best,
Nancy, Mike and Katie

Connie,

Just wanted to show you how Boomer (3/12/08) is doing. He has totally changed our lives. We love him beyond words.

Connie,

Bug is the love of my life. He goes to daycare every day and is a very happy boy. Thank you for picking him out for me.

Tina

Dear Connie,

We just wanted to give you an update on Mickey. She is doing great! I get a smile on my face just emailing about her! She came home yesterday and wasn't even phased by the trip. She is so confident and well adjusted. She has made herself right at home and is sleeping on my husband's head as we speak! She just can't get close enough to him! She sleeps a lot but when she gets her burst of energy she means business. She is just so happy and loving :) We just adore her and are so happy! You gave us an incredible, well adjusted, healthy puppy and we couldn't be happier. We promise to take great care of her! Thanks and best to you!

The Garrehys

Connie,

Hope all is well and you had a great Valentine's Day. We want to let you know that JP is adjusting very well and we love him so much. I can not imagine life without our little angel. He is the best dog ever. We get stopped all the time JP is a show stopper.

Several people have asked me where I bought him and I have given them your name. I sure hope I can send you some referrals. Some of the puppies born Sept 1 Brett is their dad have a strong resemblance to JP.

If you ever need a letter of reference please let us know.

Take good care,
Carolyn

Just want you to know that Parker is terrific. He has so many new dog friends and had no problem with the 28 floors up even after being at the house all weekend. We took him to visit friends with a baby and he was so sweet. He is having his play date this weekend with siblings since we wanted to wait for Jeffrey to be able to bring Amos. He is such a great sleeper - today 7:30. Also he and Madison cuddle and kiss. This is so much better than I even anticipated. We truly are smitten. Thank you again for such a perfect little guy.

All the best,
Lynn

Hi Connie:

Thought you might like to see how Amos is coming along. He’s so sweet and smart! House broken already, we’re in love! BTW, he absolutely stops traffic in NY and I must have given your name to 50 people. Have you had any inquiries? I give them the website address. This was taken this week on our first flight...

Best,
Jeffrey

Update 11/12/2008:

Hi Connie,

We’re going to be using Amos in some of our advertising and catalogs. Thought you might like to see some of the pictures. He’s doing great and is so sweet and friendly. He stil turns heads. Hope you’re doing well.

Warm regards,
Jeffrey

Connie,

Hi, it is April....we have George and he is everything you said he would be. He is so cute/calm/and loveable we just can not believe it....That is it for now, but I am sure I will have some questions on what to do or not to do with him and his coat. We already love him. The whole family has been in to see him of course....everyone is excited but the best is my husband. George gets up on his chair with him and curls up and sleeps. He only peed he never dirty in his kennel...so I guess he had an okay flight...

Thanks for everything...
Peace Out,
April

Hi Connie,

Just a quick note to let you know how much we love Riley. He is the sweetest baby! We can't remember life without him! You made the whole process seamless and obviously know what you are doing as a breeder. I'll send you pictures in the near future.

Regards,
Mary Ellen

Update:

Connie,

Lucy is now 3 years old and continues to bring love and joy to our lives. Her intelligence also continues to amaze us. It is unbelieveable!

Hope all is well with you and your family. I often check your website and admire the new puppies.

Sincerely,
Brenda

Hi Connie. Lucy continues to amaze us! The house breaking is done and she will grab her leash or ring a bell on the door to let us know. Of course, she will do it occasionally when she wants to go out and "play".  She has doubled her weight and is now 15 pounds, growing like a weed.

This breed is so intelligent and we are sure that Lucy is the pick of the litter and of course the smartest. Thanks again for your work and efforts in providing us with a wonderful pet.

Don & Brenda

Hey Connie, I wanted to take a minute to let you know all is well with Charlie (and us).  I can't believe it's only been four days since we got him.  He's completely captured our hearts.  Went to the vet for a well puppy visit yesterday.  Boy, you already did EVERYTHING all the shots, rabies, neutered, chip, etc. Thanks! (saved me a bundle there!).  They LOVED the puppy "baby book."  (it is terrific).  He is so smart and friendly.  The vet adores him.  The service dog trainer, Mara, adores him.  More importantly, Sarah loves him!  We are doing "clicker training" and he already knows how to sit!  He knows his name and is walking well on a leash.  He is being in his kennel/crate well, and had not yet had an accident in the house (it may happen, but he is really good about this).  Four days!  Incredible.  It's cold here tonight and he loves playing in the cold (can't say I do).  Can't wait till it snows.  He did grab a TV remote today and tried to change the channel, but, hey, it's a guy thing, right?

I sent emails to family and friends telling them we are getting Charlie for Sarah (as a service dog), and they are now calling me and saying "we want one of those."  Fortunately, I have learned about things like hip scores and good eyes and things like that which contribute to a dog's health and longevity, and am able to educate people about the Australian labradoodles.  Everybody thinks you just cross a poodle with a labrador and that's it, but it's so much more.  Thanks for the info on your website and the links.<

My asthma and allergies are doing great.  Even when Charlie comes in wet, it doesn't bother me.  Which is wonderful.  It still continues to surprise me, but I love it!  I just couldn't have a shedding dog, even a service dog.

Charlie has an appt at the doggie beauty salon this Saturday and then a photo op with Santa.  We will have to send you pictures. He starts "puppy kindergarten" next Tuesday and service dog puppy orientation this Sunday.   They say it will take about two years for him to completely train as a service dog, but he is so smart, I wouldn't be surprised if it was sooner than that.

Connie, thanks so much for EVERYTHING you have done.  You have been so kind and thoughtful towards my daughter Sarah and with Charlie and I really appreciate it.   Our animal behavioral therapist (who came to check out Charlie before we adopted him) said she was very picky about breeders and had a short list and was very impressed with how you have the dogs, feed them, etc.  I thought what was interesting was that she felt the best dog for Sarah was the one that you had already suggested!  I don't know much about dogs, and wanted to take them all home immediately, they were so cute.

Charlie is so cuddly, and that is just what Sarah likes.  It's so perfect, like a match made in heaven.  it's going to open a whole new world of opportunities for Sarah.

Thanks, Connie!
Betty

Hello Connie,

We have been having so much fun with Ralphie (we changed his spelling....he didn't mind!). We have all fallen in love with him -- he is currently snuggling with my husband watching TV. This is the same husband who said "Are we sure we want a dog?" They absolutely love each other!

I can't believe how  easy our 1st few days of having a puppy have been. Even on his very 1st night he slept soundly without barking in his crate at all. He is just so agreeable to everything...even when it's time to be crated. He's so quiet -- only heard him bark once while playing. His "potty training" is (so far!) going very well -- not one accident in the house yet. I bought one of those "pee posts" and when we walk him over to it he goes every time (he already caught on that he gets a "treat" when he goes).

We brought him to my son's soccer game last night. He met many people and behaved wonderfully. People were in awe over Ralphie....wondering what kind of dog he was. One woman was staring at me oddly when she finally came over and said she thought I was holding a stuffed animal and was shocked to see it move! He was certainly the star of the soccer game!

My children are so in love with Ralphie. Rebecca is truly his other Mommy, as I knew she would be. My son Jacob has shown me an incredibly careful, responsible side of himself...he goes around the house picking up teeny tiny little carpet "fuzzies" in fear that Ralphie may eat them! Ralphie loves Julia's laugh and "eggs" her on by running around her and playing with her -- they have so much fun together

As I mentioned, my poor kids endured me taking 7 months to investigate breeds and visit with puppy litters (without bringing one home no less-- who does that??!!!). My family was starting to think I was a little coo coo! My oldest child said "Now I'm so glad you waited, Mom. Ralphie was meant to be ours."  Now I'm the hero!

We are all very happy with Ralphie, but just want you to know I believe he is truly happy here, too. His tail is always wagging. He's made friends with our neighbor's dog. Don't tell Rosie, but he is bonding and loving his new "pack". Though, his head certainly did "tilt" when I had your website up and he heard your voice calling for "Jordy".   : )

I really am amazed at Ralphie's personality -- he is exactly what I was hoping for for our family. Gentle, playful, not aggressive/dominant, quiet, easy-going, snuggler. It seems too good to be true -- is this personality typical for all Australian Labradoodles? And I love his deep color and coat -- he really does look like a teddy bear.

I can't thank you enough for matching Ralphie to our family. You listened to our needs and picked the perfect puppy for us. We are very grateful. Please feel free to pass along my phone number or email to anyone that may need a reference.

I will send pictures soon, and will continue to give you updates.

Warmest Regards,
Carrie & Bob and family

Connie,

Tika is doing well. She was pretty mellow for the first couple of days, maybe the new surroundings and missing all the other pups etc. However, now she is quite playfull & crazy (in a fun way) at times. She calms dawn very quickly and is still calm most of the day - which is nice, but if you play with her she is a ball of energy.

Tika is scary smart, and after just 5 days she is almost 100% crate trained. In the beginning she would yip & howl for about 5-10 minutes, but now almost none. She knows her name and she now comes on command. She also now will sit on command (if she is not too excited) and she is also leash trained. Not quite house broken yet - but we are working on that one.

My last dog was a yellow Lab which I loved. She hated to be picked up - she just could not stand not having all 4 feet on the ground. Tika loves to be held - which is wonderful. She just goes limp and really enjoys being held. My son Tyler walks around the house with Tika on his shoulder, and Tika sits in my lap while I'm in my office at the computer.

All is well. Dave
